Resolve JQuery Conflict in WordPress

Including JQuery in WordPress theme

Add the following to the theme’s functions.php file:

function my_jquery_enqueue() {
   wp_deregister_script('jquery');
   wp_register_script('jquery', "http" . ($_SERVER['SERVER_PORT'] == 443 ? "s" : "") . "://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js", false, null);
   wp_enqueue_script('jquery');
}

 Or

Add the following to the theme’s functions.php file: 

// include custom jQuery
function shapeSpace_include_custom_jquery() {

 wp_deregister_script('jquery');
 wp_enqueue_script('jquery', 'https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.1.1/jquery.min.js', array(), null, true);
